What a Weekend!

Mark and I finally escaped the depths of the black hole that is Logan and went to Salt Lake this weekend! It was so much fun. For once I finally was on top of things and remembered my camera, but surprise, surprise: I forgot it in Julie's house, so I don't have any pictures. It's taken me awhile to get over it, but I think I'm going to be okay.

It started out as a trip to go to Mark's mission reunion on Friday night. So we planned to stay with Mark's sister, Julie. Before his reunion, we went out to dinner with Mark's parents, Julie, and her husband, Christopher. It was his birthday the week before. (I swear everyone I know has a birthday in March, what's the deal?) He wanted to go to Tepanyaki for the celebration so we went. WARNING: do not go to this restaurant unless you have piles of money. Well actually, mountains of money. In fact it might just be better if you avoided this restaurant at all costs. It is totally not worth the money. It was so expensive and since I don't eat meat anymore, the only thing on the menu without meat was was a pile of zucchini, onions, and mushrooms. Normally that wouldn't be bad, but they were hardly cooked and it tasted awful. Mark got a steak and some chicken and it was chopped up into little pieces! (So weird) anyway, moving on....

After that we hopped in the car and went to Mark's mission reunion. I got to meet Mark's infamous mission companions and got to listen to one of his mission presidents speak. After we stayed there for about 45 minutes or so, we left and met up with his parents again and got some ice cream.

The next day we got up and went to help Mark's brother James move out of his apartment. He and his wife Aleisha just got a home in Salt Lake somewhere (honestly, what is it, South Jordan, Murray? I never know, doesn't it seem just like one big city down there?) They were so excited and they got the cutest little twin home. We are so happy for them! We helped to pack and unpack their U-haul in record time, it was great. I even got to take my turn watching James and Aleisha's little girl Lillian for a few minutes during the process. She always wants to hug and she is always laughing, what a sweetie! The moving went by fast and I'm so glad they have their own home now (and a little envious, too).

After that, we went straight to Siegfried's in downtown Salt Lake to get some German food for Mark. He was so excited to eat there and we had fun looking at all the imported goods from Germany. Then we went to the Gateway. We actually had some money to spend, so Mark and I finally got some new clothes! We stopped at Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Anthropologie, and Black Chandelier. I got a steal of a deal on a sweater at Anthropologie and Mark found an amazing jacket at Forever 21. I am seriously in love with the Gateway! Why don't they have any good stores in Logan?

We went to the Training Table for dinner and then we headed home. I love living close to Salt Lake, because it is such a nice little getaway. There are always interesting experiences with all the people that live down there, I love it! I think that Salt Lake would be such a fun city to live in some day, but maybe only for a few years.
